We are looking for a skilled and experienced male support worker to join an existing support team in the Penzance area. We are advertising a full time position delivering a combination of 12hour days – 8am till 8pm, with additional sleeping night shifts. The service runs 7 days a week and the team have a fair share of week and weekend cover, on a 2 weekly rota.
Supporting a vulnerable and complex gent, you will have experience with personal care including catheter care, be comfortable to support on a personal basis with someone using non verbal ques and be a proactive and inclusive support worker.
Accessing the community is vitally important for this gent, he takes two 30 mile drives a day along set routes. Therefore, day staff must drive and have access to their own car to facilitate. 45p per miles for any in support mileage is paid.
Sponsorship and Visa opportunities are not offered and applicants must reside within a short commuting distance of the service.
Our ideal candidate:An experienced male support worker who holds a driving license and has access to a vehicle will meet the needs of the gent requiring 24 hour support in his own home. You must be able to drive with access to a car, as going for drives in his community is vitally important.
Essential Skills:Driving License and minimum 2 years care sector experience.
