Job Opportunity: Employed or Self-Employed Personal Assistant

 

Hourly Rate: £15.84 self-employed Hours per Week: Up to 35 hours per week Schedule: Flexible schedule (including weekends) 10:00am – 10:00pm (shorter shifts available)

Location: Penzance

 

A vibrant and artistic 92-year-old lady is seeking a cheerful, self-employed personal assistant to support her in her day-to-day life. A former professional artist, she retains a deep love for creativity, particularly drawing and all things artistic. Although she is living with dementia and experiences memory issues, her passion for art and engaging conversation remains strong.

The ideal candidate will be someone with a genuinely happy and warm disposition—someone who brings positive energy into the room and enjoys meaningful companionship. You’ll need to be patient, understanding, and capable of offering gentle reminders and support with daily routines.

This is a self-employed role, offering flexibility in hours and a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life. If you are kind-hearted, proactive, and enjoy bringing joy to others, this could be a deeply rewarding opportunity for you.

Essential Requirements:

¨ Great communication skills

¨ Understanding of dementia

¨ Eligibility to work in the UK

¨ DBS Check, references and standard training (can be provided free)

¨ Full driving licence, access to a vehicle + business cover (if applicable)

¨ Relevant Training/Qualifications

¨ Proof of self-employment in the UK, insurance & DBS check

¨ Data Protection and Confidentiality – follows UK GDPR regulations
