We are recruiting Support Workers on either a full or part time basis for our service based in Altarnun, Launceston.  We can be flexible with the number of hours offered and will consider applications from all interested candidates.

You must have the ability to work flexibly across various shifts spread over weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility is essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £60.00 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.

About our Service
We support two gentlemen who share a bungalow.  They both love accessing the community, going for a ride in their car and people watching.  They can present with challenging behaviours and do not communicate verbally, additional training will be given around behaviours.

We are ideally looking for someone who can drive both of the gentlemen have their own vehicles and love getting out and about in them.

What does a Support Worker do?

As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.  You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.  Typical responsibilities may include:

– Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
-Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
-Community & Social Inclusion – supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
-Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
