Registered Manager Development Programme

Proud to Care Cornwall are excited to offer the Registered Manager Development Programme (RMDP), developed in partnership with Smart Working Revolution Ltd and accredited by The Institute of Leadership. Designed in collaboration with registered managers across Cornwall, this programme goes beyond the Level 5 Diploma by adding practical, real-world leadership, management and operational skills. Best of all, this programme is fully funded!

Who is eligible for ELEVATE?

All Registered Managers who have been in post 4 years or more working within care homes, nursing homes, home care/ domiciliary care or supported living.

 

Why this programme?

We know Registered Managers are pivotal to the success of any care setting and perform an incredibly demanding role.  We want to support experienced managers by creating a space to reflect, upskill, improve efficiency, build a network of other Registered Managers and bring fresh energy back to your team. This course is now accredited by The Institute of Leadership.

Programme Objectives

Inspire

Cultivate a vision of effective leadership by exploring motivational techniques that inspire team members to excel in their roles and foster a positive workplace culture.

 

Upskill

Enhance existing management skills, including conflict resolution, effective communication, and performance management, to enhance their capability to lead teams effectively and encourage retention of care staff.

 

Innovate

Encourage participants to identify and implement innovative practices and technologies that improve service delivery and enhance the quality of care provided to clients.

 

Grow

Foster personal and professional growth through self-assessment and reflection, enabling managers to identify strengths and areas for development in their leadership styles.

 

Mentor

ELEVATE existing mentoring skills that empower participants to guide and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within their organisations.

Programme Modules

The programme consists of four essential modules. Delegates must commit to attending all four core modules.

  1. Lead Others
    Strengthen the leadership capabilities of experienced Managers, enabling them to lead with confidence and effectiveness.
  2. Develop Self
    Explore self-awareness to encourage personal growth and wellbeing, whilst promoting self-reflective learning, which contributes to continuous development.
  3. Optimise Delivery
    Analyse and apply best practices in operational management to optimise service delivery, ensuring efficiency and high standards of care.
  4. Deliver Operations
    Analyse the frameworks and regulations governing care operations, enabling participants to effectively oversee compliance and operational excellence.
  5. CQC  (Optional)
    Information and guidance on CQC process and an opportunity to share personal experiences.

FAQs

How will it be delivered?

ELEVATE will be approximately 12 days in length which will be delivered over a period of 2-3 months, so as not to significantly disrupt your ability to carry out your role while you attend this course. All session dates will be given to you before the start of the programme to enable planning and commitment. Sessions will be delivered in mixed format of face-to-face, and online. It is essential that you attend every session if you are selected.

Will I get a qualification?

Yes. This programme is accredited by The Institute of Leadership.

I haven’t studied for a while/I’m not confident

There are no prior qualifications needed, and you will be supported by the facilitation staff and your peers, as well as the Proud to Care Cornwall team. We are delivering the programme to Registered Managers who have been in post for 4 years or more to help build that support network from day one.

Is there an assessment or exam?

No. The concept is designed as a series of masterclasses that enable delegates to leave with practical tools, knowledge, and skills to apply to their own workplace.

How do I apply?

Simply complete our online application form. This is a fully funded programme, due to a high volume of attendees, delegates will be selected randomly.

When can I apply?

Applications are open now and will close at midnight on 18th January 2026. You will find out if you have been successful approximately two weeks before the programme starts.

When does it start?

Cohort 4 will begin on 11th February 2026.
