* This role is a private arrangement with a person or family who is seeking support for someone else or themselves. You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: Carbis Bay
Adventurous creative young lady who enjoys being outside, loves animals, as well as swimming, dancing, and riding her bike seeks a fun-loving and warm-hearted personal assistant to join her jolly team. She has a diagnosis of Autism, Learning disabilities and Epilepsy. Role is supporting her 2:1 and there will be no lone-working.
Support required:
· Personal support
· Meal preparation
· Support with medication
· Driving her vehicle
· Support her to take part with activities in the community
· Emotional support
· Support with movement via a handling belt and/or a wheelchair when outside
· Supporting with furthering her independence
Hourly rate of pay: £12.00 + £102.96 per sleep in.
Total hours: Various hours and shift patterns including weekends and sleep-ins are available. Times for support cover 24/7, so hours can be negotiated.
Essential:
– A patient person who can adapt to the needs and wants of the people they support.
– Full driving licence
Desirable:
– Some knowledge of Makaton/key signs, although training will be provided
– Someone who can create a warm and homely environment at the beginning and the end of each day to help her feel safe
Training to be provided – Previous support work experience isn’t required; we ask only that you have a willingness to learn
