Job Opportunity: Self-Employed Personal Assistant
Please note: This role is a private arrangement with an individual or family seeking support. You will not be employed by Humans Cornwall but will work directly with the individual or their family. The role is funded privately by the family/person or via a Direct Payment from Cornwall Council.
Location: Penzance / Newlyn
A married couple in the Penzance/Newlyn area are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to provide overnight support. The primary role will be assisting the wife with mobility, accessing the toilet, and preparing drinks if needed, while also being on call for any additional support required during the night.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with mobility throughout the night
Supporting access to the toilet as needed
Carrying out light domestic and laundry tasks
Providing fluids when required
Rate and Hours:
Hourly Rate: Competitive
Hours per Week: 24-60 hours
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM (Flexible start and end times)
Essential Criteria:
Strong time management and organisational skills
Patient, caring, and supportive nature
Trustworthy and reliable
Eligibility to work in the UK
Public Liability Insurance (if self-employed)
Valid DBS check
Full UK driving licence and access to a car (due to the home’s location)
