You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *

Location: Falmouth

41-year-old ‘self-confessed’ cat lady who enjoys gardening & photography seeks a kind and caring self-employed personal assistant with organisational skills to help her live independently at home. She has a diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis, anxiety and depression.

Support required:

–        Domestic support e.g. hoovering, watering plants, bed-making, cleaning bathroom & kitchen

–        All aspects of personal care

–        Meal preparation

–        Enabling her to complete tasks around the home

–        Support with maintaining her 5 cats i.e. cleaning out litter trays every so often

–        Life admin i.e. phone calls & paperwork

–        Shopping support & getting prescriptions

–        Help with getting ready for appointments

–        Organisation and packing for a house move

Hourly rate of pay: £13.54

Total hours: 18 hours a week (Role is shared with another PA, so there may be opportunity for additional hours when needed)

Weekly schedule

Hours are variable & flexible each week, averaging at 3 – 5hrs per visit. This will be discussed prior to each visit based on the lady’s need and your availability.

Essential:

–        A person who is comfortable around cats

–        Self-employed person (or willing to become self-employed)

–        Current DBS

–        Public Liability Insurance

Desirable

–        Full driving licence

–        Some experience in a support role

About you:

–        You are compassionate, caring and always put the person you are supporting at the heart of everything you do

–        Able to work on your own initiative, but also happy to take direction where needed

–        You have strong organisational skills, meaning you are efficiently and thoroughly able to complete tasks

–        Can employ a methodical approach to your support which allows you to pre-plan and multi-task
