These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *

Location: Redruth

Lady seeks a mature, reliable, honest and patient personal assistant with a good sense of humour. She lives with multiple chronic invisible and energy limiting conditions, as well as Autism, ADHD and Complex-PTSD.

Support required:

·       Supporting with various household tasks including: cooking, cleaning, organising, laundry, and some light garden tasks.

·       Shopping and collecting prescriptions and running errands.

·       Helping with organising medications.

·       Short dog walks and some general pet care.

·       Supporting client to access the community; accompanying client outside of the house on outings, shopping, appointments, etc. when well enough.

·       Distracting from difficult days by playing games or doing crafts with client.

·       Communicating for client when they are unable (e.g. making telephone calls).

·       Occasional admin support.

·       NO PERSONAL CARE required currently (other than helping with hair drying/straightening, although this may have the potential to change in the future).

Hourly rate of pay: £14.72

Hours per week: 20

Working schedule: Afternoons/early evenings (hours can be flexible as long as they are after 1pm)

Essential:

•      DBS checked

•      Full clean driving licence and car

•      Public Liability Insurance

•      Must provide proof of self-employment (HMRC Unique Tax Reference number)

•      Must be comfortable around small dogs

•      Be able to follow instructions but also take the initiative.

•      No smoking or bad language during working hours

Desirable:

·       Understanding and knowledge of Autism, ADHD and invisible chronic health conditions.
