* This role is a private arrangement with a person or family who is seeking support for someone else or themselves. You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *

Location: Truro

Young person who produces music, tech, computer science, drones, cars, and is deeply passionate about social issues, is looking for a personal assistant to support them with their independent living skills.

Support required:

Supporting with independent living skills – assisting and encouraging to complete tasks such as laundry, meal planning, budgeting, cooking, cleaning, study skills, and visiting potential universities.

Hourly rate of pay: £12 (employed) or £14.72 (self-employed)

Hours per week: Up to 10 hours

Working schedule: Flexible on times and days, but preferably Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm – 6pm.

Committed for a minimum of 6 months as it is important to build a trusting relationship.

Essential:

·       Valid DBS

·       Evidence of an understanding of autism, ADHD, neurodivergence

·       Trauma informed, shame sensitive, compassionate, and kind

·       LGBTQ+ friendly

·       Good sense of humour with passions and interests with a willingness to delve into debates

·       Preferably a younger male (or non-binary) to build trust and share interests with the young person

Desirable:

·       Driving Licence
