* This role is a private arrangement with a person or family who is seeking support for someone else or themselves. You will not be employed by or carry out work for Humans Cornwall; we have a dedicated team to help identify private personal assistants for care and support. These roles are personally assisting somebody to achieve their goals, gain independence and/or manage their daily lives; These will be self-funded by the family or person, or they may receive a Direct payment from Cornwall council. *
Location: Wadebridge
Young lady seeks 1 or 2 female Personal Assistants to support her in the community. She loves going out, and is hearing impaired, (wears hearing aids) with higher functioning Autism.
Support required:
· Safely accompany and support her to engage in community activities
Hourly rate of pay: £12
Hours per week: 5 hours
Working schedule:
· Fridays or Saturdays – times can be flexible and discussed at interview stage
· An additional 3 x 6-hour days during school holidays. School holiday days can be flexible and split between 2 people.
Essential:
· Driving Licence
· DBS check – cost covered by client
· Sense of humour
· Compassionate, patient, and understanding.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of the individual.
· Must like animals as we have a lovely gentle dog and a slow elderly cat that might want to sit with you for some strokes.
Desirable:
· Experience with autism and/or hearing impairment preferred but not essential.
