Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity.  We have been making a difference for 35 years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.

At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.

About the Role

As Service Manager for this service, you will work with the Hub Leader & Registered Manager to role model outstanding support whilst also undertaking duties such as rota planning, appraisals & supervisions, risk assessments, support planning and co-ordinating the regular training of your team. You will be able to use your IT skills to effectively use basic systems designed for efficient reporting.

You will work on-shift, leading your team in outstanding practice whilst overseeing 3 people we support and their staff teams. You will lead the principles of “nothing about me without me”, ensuring the supported person’s voice (behaviours, expressions, actions, words) is heard, and they are leading their support planning, delivery, and review.

This opportunity is based in a supported lifestyle project for 16 individuals living in their own flats who receive 1:1 support at different times of the day and have access to our shared support hub. The hub is a unique dimension to Supported Living and you will be part of a team supporting individuals as a point of contact, with their planned activities and personal care requirements, as well as moving & handling people and providing distress behavior support (when required).

This role will also include 2 “outreach” services in the Redruth area where we support two enabled individuals who live independently but receive between 14-18 hours of support each per week.

We are looking for people who can engage with different personalities and bring energy, adaptability, creativity, humour, patience, and commitment to a support leadership role where every day is different.

An understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS) and leading PBS in practice would be an advantage, although not essential because we can develop these skills and experience with the right person who has the attitude and aptitude to learn and deliver at this level.

You will have experience of providing services for people with learning disabilities and autism, familiarity with supervising a team, and a current working knowledge of CQC regulation would also be advantageous.

You will work closely with family, external agencies, and your colleagues – using the expertise of others to ensure access to a holistic, truly person-centered service. You will demonstrate your ability to plan, deliver, and review support on an outcomes-focused pathway, considering positive risk taking to develop skills and have meaningful experiences. You will be driven to continuously improve the service and performance of your team to enable the people we support to direct their own lives by having opportunity, choice, and control.

This is a 24 hour, 365 days per year service and you will need to be flexible to work as the service requires, including mornings, daytime, nights and weekends.
